I thought this was a bad photo and was not sure why it was included. It was completely overcast day with little contrast as it was. Look for my pictures of the Iditarod after this weekend. Its supposed to be a nice day March 5th for the start of the race.

It's very cool to see a dogsled race photo here. While there are some definite technical issues with this image, the subject is so cool and different that I'm happy almo chose it as this week's Featured Photo.
About those technical problems...
It's a bit too contrasty and the highlights are blown out. I can't tell if it's an exposure or an image setup problem. If I had shot this, I would have shot dark to hold the snow and highlight detail, and then adjusted the shadows later, to get a more balanced contrast. I realize that this is an action photo and conditions were harsh for photos. But shooting a bit dark, to preserve the highlights, is a good habit to get into with digital.
I have a big problem with the composition. Again - I realize this is an action photo and sometimes you take what you can get. In this case it could probably be improved with a crop. The problem is that the woman is smack dab in the very middle and that traps my eye and makes for a dead composition. Maybe you were trying to keep some of the track in the frame, but I'd just crop tighter on the right side to get her out of the middle. That will open up the composition and allow the viewer's eye to start traveling around and noticing more subtle details.
Thanks for sharing your race photos. They're neat and different. Hope my comments are useful for you.
