Possibly my favourite 'gahspidy' photograph; definitely top three.

Larry, I see that it has been selected and I'm quite honored. It's actually quite encouraging and has me thinking about getting out there and working on some more of these. thanks

Photos of the Week are not that easy to come by as you know Gary. Always lots of choices. Congratulations very well deserved.

Greg, I know what you mean. Sometimes an image reminds me of something and I don't know why. I think a mood or feeling can be associated with others from the past as well.
I do like the subjecvt and look forward to working on more of these. BTW, I have not seen any new works from your Barber shop series, and i think that was a great idea. i hope you can continue with that project.
Thanks, Greg.

Gary,
For some reason this reminds me of "A Street Car Named Desire" Even though I have not seen it since I was a child. I am not even sure why? Your work is always a pleasure to look at and I can see why your images hang in gallerys. I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy your work. I hope this one turns into a series...

Dana, drg, Martin, and CF thanks for your time. POD, wow. . .very nice
I'm trying to put together a series of these because I find the warm glow of the windows at night, especially cold winter nights, to be intriguing. The truth is, the more urban and inner city one goes, the more interesting the windows can be. I am applying the same PP technique to the rest of the series.
CF, one of the things i look for, besides the windows having a charm and interesting appeal, is that there is enough room for me to capture it from far back so that there is not too much of an angle to deal with. These windows are usually high up and if I were to try to take the shot from up close, I would have way too much straightening to do in PS, not to mention how difficult it would be getting the entire image sharp
thanks all for the comments. I'm very encouraged to continue risking frostbite

drg, I'm loving the DSLR, no doubt. . .

Gary,

What a great shot. How did you position yourself to capture this perspective? The pipe makes it for me. Great capture, and congratulations on POD.

Gary,

You are getting some good stuff out of that DSLR! I read the comments in the forums as well and I believe you are indeed getting a more 'painterly' appearance again to your work. I feel each of the three windows is in itself an image or sub-photo so this almost works as an internally framed tryptych. The brightness contrast between the windows and the exterior provides that attractive feel and hints at warmth inside each of the 'views'.

Yes, I like it and how it works on several different planes.

And congrats on POTD.

Congratulations Gary...I would have been very disappointed if this had NOT made it to the place of honor.

Micheal, Dana, Just Yo, Old Timer... . thank you for the comments. I was hoping this would be well received. I liked the final outcome, but I always feel that putting it out for the forum to view is the best way to know if I did ok.
Dana, I'm sorry. I did see your initial post but was loading the larger image to replace the smaller version I initially had up and lost the whole thread in the process.
Especially thanks for the time to comment once again.

I like it better each time I look at it Gary. And I agree with Dana that it has to be viewed larger to be appreciated. Nice work as usual.
