I will probably agree with John. It is noteworthy that even though I have much less strong affection to the American Flag, the image strikes me very strongly. I prefer not to deconstruct photographs when I like them, that's why I keep myself from analizing how many levels are here, and why it is all working so marvellously. I am just enjoying the show

Karl-
That's a hell of a composition. This is a powerful image for me on many levels. First of all, as an abstract composition it's beautiful. All the seemingly random shapes and colors work so well together. There's a transparent, layered feeling that I really like. And then there are the actual symbolic objects. I'm not quite sure how to interpret it yet, but the flag is very moving. Since it's a bit off to the side and not all there, it seems there's some ambivalence. But it's still the prominent symbol and obviously the center of attention and meaning. I may be projecting my own feelings onto the image. But even that's a good thing. Because that means you created something that moved me deeply. I honestly believe this is one of the best images I've seen yet in these galleries.
