I like this a lot. Nice exposure and very well framed. I like the out of focus hand, made me wonder what this would look like if the hand and fingers were the primary focus and the head were blurred. Good work.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thanks Larry! I have an another photo, with 'a rotated sharpness' (where fingers are sharp and a face isn't), too. But, in my opinion, the photo isn't so good like this one demonstrated above.
I may be wrong and you may be right, and by an effort, we may get nearer to the truth.
I thought you might. I often will do opposing version of an image just to see which one ultimately works best. I think you made the right choice, just thought it might be interesting to see the other version. I like this one more each time I view it.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Great thanks, Larry. I hope my understanding of your comment is good. Let that I will still write 'two words'. So, there is a very important principle (so-called Ockham's razor) in philosophy: 'Entities are not to be multiplied beyond necessity' (William of Ockham, c. 1285-1349). I think it is important in photography too. I mean during the work we need many attempts and experiments but during the presentation of our work's effects a selection and a guardedness are needed and useful.

I agree strongly with what you said. I think many times the photographer puts to much of his work out for people to see and evaluate. He should choice more carefully and exhibit only what is in his opinion the best. Congrats on your POT much overdue honor for you.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Fine composition and a worthy selection for a featured photograph. I rather like the slight blur to the fingers, it forces the eye back to the face and its relationship to the cross.
We more frequently spell it as Occam in English, and my two favorite renditions of the philosophical principle are either the K.I.S.S. variant, Keep it Simple Stupid or "If there are two explanations available the simpler of the two is more correct".CDPrice 'drg' Biography and Contributor's Page
