Thanks very much J-Dogg. This one is kind of a blast from the past. It was taken a year ago. Still a favorite of mine.

OK Dana!!! Point well taken. I'll grab the camera and head out this afternoon.

Thanks you Dana! I need to do more of this type photography. It is something I really love. However it seems most of the shutter clicks are coming of the grandkids lately.

Wow....I'm just glad someone brought this baby forward (since I was not around for the first showing). Everyone else has already used the words I would have chosen.

Thanks very much Rick! 2006 was a good year for me photographically. I feel like I did make some improvement and had a number of images that I was very pleased with. Of all of them this one probably surprised and pleased me as much as any with the response to it and the fact that it was a b&w in what seems to be an ever increasing color world of photography.

Thanks beekey! This is one of my favorites from the last year. When you get an image like this it makes it worth getting up and out in the cold morning air. Even if you are late for work.

Old Timer, This is a great photo! You should consider sending it into Velonews.com's weekly photo contest. It's a sure winner.

Sometimes less is more. You were right to choose the B&W. I could 'feel" the chill looking at this image.
Nice work!

Makes me cold just looking at it! Nice capture of the ice on metal. Makes for an interesting abstract image.

Thanks for the kind words Marv. You see a lot of things out in the field that you think have potential, but so many times when you are back in the "darkroom" things just aren't the way you had hoped. this one just seemed to click.

Larry, it really takes an experienced eye to see the potential of this subject, and you certainly nailed it.

Composition, tones, everything is right on. I love it.

I agree with the other comments on depth of field. Perfect just the way it is. Wish I had taken it.
