This is a nice shot I bet you get some beautiful sunsets out there over across the lake. With this shot I might have waited just a hair bit longer until the sun was just fully around the corner out of sight. It's a very peaceful scene but, the sun competes with the serenity for attention. Also, waiting a touch longer probably would give you even more color in the sky. This shot would also make for a nice panoramic crop by taking a little off the bottom.Aaron Lehoux * flickr

Growing up on the Atlantic I didn't have the fun of seeing the ice build-ups that we get on Lake Superior. I want to high light the ice and it's beauty. Any suggestions. You are probably going to get tired of my love of the ice on the lake.
Best thing I could recommend is to shoot when the sun is low in the sky. Generally the sun's light isn't as intense and also the low angle of the sun brings out the contours of the ice/snow better. You could also look into getting a polarizer filter but, your camera has an odd filter size and would be hard to find a decent polarizer for it. If you end up getting that Oly though, it wouldn't be an issue.Aaron Lehoux * flickr
