I think this is the best shot from the cemetery series for a number of reasons. First, the subject. This stone with the scripture stating that this is Mary Parker and she is here because she was hanged in 1692 is chilling and intrigueing (hmm that does not look like i spelled that correctly)Second, I really like the angle at which you shot this. Three corners of the frame are left with space which I think works great here. You did'nt just fill the whole frame with the stone. The exposure is just right creating a mood somewhat dreary.
Third, maybe you did or maybe you did not place the leaves or dried flowers on the stone, but regardless it works well and adds a little something more for mood and setting and even thought.
This is one of those simple images that are very powerful and tell a big story. Not just about Mary and how or why she was hanged and lies there, but also about those times in our history, not too far out of our medieval ages
No way I was touching dead flowers on a dead woman's memorial stone...Don't think so....
I took about 10 of this one and this was the final exposure and composition that really called out to me. The saddest part is realizing that ignorance is what killed her ...which has attributed to most of the mass killings thru the ages.

I love the mood, which is built by color and exposure. Great composition.
But it doesn't have much lasting value to me. I look at it, I get a certain feeling, but I don't ant to stay and keep studying it. I think that might be due to the nature of the subject, or maybe the simple elements, not sure.

Moody and ponderous, the inscription is blunt and uncaring. However, somebody must care about her to have left flowers.This shot evokes a sense of mystery surrounding the death of this woman and her life. Well spotted and a great capture.
