That is funny you mention the flash. I let the camera expose this for me(after I taught it to listen) Hehehe.
I am amazed at what the D80 matrix metering mode does, can do if the E.V. comp is adjusted correctly. I also used the 13 point metering w/ Manual focus and auto WB.
The only hint of the flash is the texture on the bud. So the flash output was tiny just like the flower.
