I don't know what type of flower this is,but it was groovy grape. :O)

This was captured in RAW mode.My first attempt at RAW. What do you think?

It's a big step... as I have been shooting exclusively JPG. until now. Taken at the Nokia complex. Los altos,ca.

Raw is wonderful, Rick! With all the things you like to try, it'll open up new worlds of creative possibility for you. Since it's straight out of the camera sensor, without any of the usual in-camera jpeg processing, you usually need some sharpening at the least. Maybe try playing with the white balance (e.g., warm it up a bit) as well, but that's my preference. Then there's exposure adjustment and so much more.
Btw, these are just one of many varieties of lavender, but 'groovy grape' works too...

I'm not very familiar with using RAW Rick, but what excellent clarity for being so drastically downsized!
