Tha problems are to take full semi-tones in shadow and light part of the photo. For more color tones in light and shadow need to apply HDR technology. See how it is works and looks

UsuaL CAMERA Matrix EVEN of a SLR CAN NOT PASS 10-15 STOPS COLOR AND LIGHT RANGEs. On first time, you can use in-camera brackening mode doing tree photos with different exposures (e.g. -2.0-> 0-> +2.0), and then compose these to HDR via Photomatix software (V1.2 Basis is free for using now).
What is your opinion?
