super shot with a bullet....nice job with this one. it's verging on the abstract but with such crispness and color to bounce off of the mainly black and white with flecks of red theme. this would look great as a verticle presentation too. great shot...very interesting

I think this is a really cool shot. My first thought was that it looked like an eye. I really like the contrast of the color with the more black & white of the wood. Nice!
Micheal, you don't miss much, I like that about you. One of the things I like to do are detail and texture studies. Wood grain has always fascinated me. Like you say it borders on abstract, but I think there is enough of the real world, and abstract here that it could be interpreted either way. Im still trying to decide if I like it or not.
