wonderful take with great depth of field.....interest is further added by your pleasing crop which tends to keep my eyes focused on the "meat" of the shot. i also like the plain frame that you chose to showcase this fine piece....normally i'm not really keen on electronic frames but sometimes they just help the photo inside to "pop ....great shot!!!

I do enjoy what effects this lens produces, maybe that is what is also coming thru as well. Seems to isolate subjects very softly, and sharply at the same time. I can't wait to really get back to shooting on a regular basis again to see if I can get some "wall hanger" shots.

A lovely pic, Carl and as you've already got a " 10 " you don't need another.
But, being me, am very curious as to what the R1 would have made of it.
To my old eyes the colours are just a tad "unreal" It's more a beautiful fantasy than a reproduction of a flower. Probably that was the aim.

Not to be a Johnny come lately, but nice job and congrats on the POD.

I, too, am intrigued by the effect that lens seems to produce. I am not sure I've ever seen a photo from on of those lenses. Interesting and attractive transition from the subject to the bokeh. It lends a comfortable and familiar feel to the photo.

Yes the bokeh on this lens has been touted as one of the best, if not the best of all the lenses currently on the market. I thought I might be able to do some things with it, and winced when I paid the premium for it. I just can't wait to get out and really have a go with it. It is a manual focus lens only with two apertures. One controls bokeh, the other your normal aperture. For those interested,
