Rare shot !!
Not only did you capture the lightning grounding to earth.You got a bolt going from cloud to cloud searching for ground.That's what lightning is.Static electricity searching for a ground.

Thanks all! got some fantastic shots from atop an apartment block (unfortunately only 4 storeys high) on Wednesday of a thunderstorm rolling in. I'll be posting some of those shots soon!
