THANKS, Davidis and a great New Year to you, too! You must be on your computer at the same time as I, most of the time, huh?.......always nice to see your immediate comments....the photo was taken looking in direction of setting sun just as it dropped below horizon......couldn't believe vapor was accumulating and staying intact as this..just thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime occurance and photo opportunity and luckily I had the camera available...........harry

Really interesting shot. I thought the reflection was a lake. You're right it is unusual to see something like that. Years ago I was flying with a new first officer who was facinated by other planes near us making contrails and excited to think he was in an airplane making them too. So I asked ATC for a 360 turn and let him circle to see his own contrail. Thanks for sharing the photo and reminding me of that flight.

Thanks Bill........I thought this was a once-in-a-lifetime happening....I had seen the beginning of circles before, but this is the first for the 360......and, a Happy New Year to you too!
