Years ago a professional photog who was a family friend told us when you had a new camera go buy a 12 exposure role take the camera into the bathroom and shoot 12 pics,no flash,just adjust the camera according to available light and composition and shoot! This exercise was meant to let you see the function of the camera and also your function as a photog.
