The composition is the strong point of this photo. A multicoloured spider with much of the web in the same focal plane with a "web" of vegetation behind framing the spider. More detail of the spider would have made this much better.

Getting a good shot of a spider is not as easy as it looks. Very few of my attempts are successful. If you are shooting macro your DOF is usually pretty narrow. When the spider is in the middle of it's web, just the slightest breeze will move the spider and bring it out of focus. This narrow DOF pushes you to a smaller aperture, the movement necessitates a fast shutter speed. You end up between a rock and a hard place. You still did a good job.
