Thank you for your compliments. As you pointed out in your comments on the original of this cropped version, the flies were dead center and then cropped to "thirds". The lens used here is capable of a maximum macro of 1:3.9. With the 1.6 multiplying factor of the EOS 10D, it translates to a maximum macro of about 1:2.4. Until I get a "real" macro lens with 1:1 capability I know before I shoot that I will be cropping. I maximize the cropping possibilities by keeping the subject centered.
