great shot and i love it as a black and white photo. i also like the "floated" framing of the picture...it works perfectly with this image.

Very nice waterscape. This looks like one you could make almost any size desired.

Good use of contrast and adjustment. These monochrome styled images don't always have the impact we desire, this one does. This one has a fine balance of light and dark to convey a good sense and feel of weight. The lines give it a very positive feel. The angle of the sun even add to the apparent movement of the ship with the shadows of the sails falling as if they are also being blown by the wind.
