At a rough guess I'd estimate it as about 450 miles from SF and about 18 miles from Gold Beach.
That IS just an estimate, Rick - 'cos I live such a long way away ! ! ! But it might just save YOU having to check the map !

you're not too far off glenn. it is a bit closer to gold beach....maybe four miles or possibly a little more or less. i live almost equidistant between them. i don't know about the miles but it sounds about right. i think in terms of hours mostly when i do distances around the coast and i believe it's between five and six hours by car. it is a really beautiful place and the drive between here and the bay area is just sweet. you go through a whole lot of great coast and some wayyyyy cool towns and .....THE RED WOODS!! awesome!!!
