Is that Martinez or Pittsburgh? I can't believe people live up there. How many times a year is there a fire, chemical spill or other accident that requires everyone to stay indoors or evacuate? And there are schools right next to the refineries, too.
As far as the photos goes, this is a good juxtaposition. Good eye. I do think there's too much sky. Having the horizon line right in the middle is generally a compositional no-no.
