Yes this is actually a high altitude water hole only about 50 ft wide, The elevation is right at 7000 ft. The surface wasn't frozen, just dead calm as the pond has a burm around it that protects it when the winds are mild. The ambiant temperature was probably about thirtyfive, so it was no pleasure trip. Thanks for the great compliments and rating. If you look at the lower right hand corner of the photo you will see the Innternational Space Station cruising by just above the horizon. I just love astrophotography but it doesn't seem to have a large following. I don't think most people have much interest in ih or its complexities. You know it's just open the lens and let the stars go by!! HA!!Thanks again!
