I was going to buy a Pentax Ist* Ds t use with my older K glass, but none of my lenses worked with the camera. The one I tried up locked up with every one of my lenses.

What I want to know is will this camera use those lenes or will it have the smae quirky, use some and not others issues that the Ist* cameras have?

I wouldn't expect these cameras to behave any differently from the Pentax digital SLRs. Right now, the Samsung digital SLRs are basically re-badged Pentax cameras.

I'm disappointed to hear that you had trouble with lens compatibility. I was under the impression that the Pentax bodies were all completely backwards compatible. Maybe there's an explanation. What lenses did you have trouble with?

I have a Pentax SMC 50mm, and a SMC AF 35-70mm, and a Beck 100mm. It funny cuz I have a genaric 2x teleconverter, and if I put my lenses on that the camera would start up, but there was no mettering.

Your *st D requires a custom menu function to be set in order to use old K and M lenses. You will need to meter in Manual mode (after all, they are manual lenses) but they work just fine once you've set the custom function.

You can even use old screw-mount lenses, but metering is a bit more complicated.

I have seven or so manual lenses and they all meter perfectly, even modded one with a shroud that was to big and it works fine now too, I think you are doing something wrong.
