This was taken with the 18-55 kit lens. This lens often gets bad reviews, but has worked for me so far. Any others out there?

True. Everytime I look at this picture, it strikes me as more scientific than artistic. Getting the hang of the technical aspects of photography is easy. I've often wondered if the artistic side (still life, especially) can ever be taught/learned, or are you just blessed with it?

Nevertheless, I still take pride and joy in knowing that I was able to take a pretty picture with a lens that has been dubbed by many as "inferior".
