Thanks for nice comment but excuse my ignorance but not sure what you mean about jpeg effect on the hand? could you explain this for me. regards.

Hi dear Bevb,
now I will try exlain my notes. On the picture ( exactly on the hand)I clearly see sharp transition of the color border. You use good SLR camera and this defect is not from camera. In may be after compressing the photo via JPEG. What format of file o you use in the camera : RAW or JPEG?. Anoter reason of the defect may be from high ISO value which the camera makes automatically in dark conditions if you use AUTO shoting mode.
The defect about I noted can correct in computer using software (e.g.FS or FI or others). Reducing the noise can via Neat Image software.

Hi Davidis, thanks for explaining, i used Jpeg format and it was on TV (shutter priority) mode, i have cropped the image and tweaked the sat?hue slightly, i had only just got the lense as well (that day), and i really got this shot through sheer luck more than judgement but what you say i can see now and thank you, today i have learnt something new. regards Bev.
