This is a really nice picture. I like the way it is layered - forest, rocks like giant oystershells, riverbed,reflected sky, underwater rocks, reflected trees. And the photo is as crystal clear as the water. Your must take truly impressive pictures with your'Rebel' if they can beat this one.
This is my favorite of your posts. I don't think the Rebel would have made a difference. You needed to go wide to get this. This photo was taken with a focal length equivalent to 35mm (on a standard 35mm camera). The Rebel with the 24-84 would have given you a focal length of 38mm. You might not have got it all.
You were successful in the most important aspects...having the eye and being there.
