I really, really like this photo. The thumbnail keeps jumping out at me and I finally had to look. In spite of some noise, the larger image doesn't disappoint. It's got a dark, grim, distant beauty to it that speaks strongly to me. I think it's suggestive of our time - at least for me. Things are looking a bit grim, but the true American spirit remains strong and hopeful. It's wonderful and moving. I only wish it was a little wider. I don't really like the square aspect ratio of compact digital cameras. The format feels a little too confined to me.
