The River Moskva yesterday.Taken through glass-hence the reflection. The cahedral like building on the horizon is Moscow State University- a style known as "Stalinist Gothic".

Very, very representative. Strange how so many of our northern cities can look really attractive when the sun shines yet be so depressing on certain winter days. Extremely good atmospheric capture !

I think this has potential, but I'd like to see it with a little more contrast. It's a bit too flat and dead. Maybe that's really the way it looked. Even so, it doesn't draw me in as wel as it would if it had a little more punch. I don't think I'd want the feel to change. But some more contrast would add some definition so that the buildings and other details would stand out more.

Thanks for sharing it. It's nice to see photos from other parts of the world.

Sorry ! May be more pleasant in many ways but you lose the atmosphere of the scene - something that was so familiar when I first opened the picture.
Have a strong suspicion that California and Northern Europe can be very, very different - and not just in the lighting

Well, I do like the one with more contrast better. I'm sure Moscow does have different light than California does in the winter. I do know about that flat light, though. I don't think I've lived as far north as Moscow. But I did live in New Brunswick, Canada, and Montana. I don't want to lose the feel of it, either. But it feels *mucky* to me right now. Sometimes post-processing is a tricky art. And maybe it's just a cultural difference...
