Oh man, just the idea alone is a 10. Haven't seen alot from you lately and yet, you pull this out of your hat! SUPER! the shot is great too I might add. What a project, very very very cool sir!! Great choice on background to show every piece of it flying. Everyone has to love a destruction picture! Can't say enough about this one.

how'd you get the timing so perfect? looks just like that photo of the bullet going through the apple but they used a high speed camera for that I believe. Good shot
Thanks for your comments guys. Carl, it took 5 or six shots to get the timing down and after that it was pretty easy. The camera was set on a tripod, focused on the radish. An "old" flash I had hanging around (the Vivitar) was altered such that two wires were connected to the manual flash triiger button. These wires were connected to a "homemade" switch which was activated by the pellet as it left the gun. The rifle was set in a vice and the target was about 1 foot from the gun. The room was blackened, the shutter opened on "bulb", the gun fired which automatically triggered the flash and then the shutter closed. The real challenge was in designing a mechanical switch with a "delay" that could be adjusted by milliseconds
