John, Almo, cgarrard and Glenn,

I'm glad to know there are some intelligent life forms out there. Thanks for your input.

Sorry, Glenn. My mistake. I should have double-checked your post. Thanks for the correction and the definition.

Interesting ! Must have missed the comment which accused this masterpiece of bad taste as being "ugly" ! What a boring world this would be if we all agreed on what is beautiful or attractive and what is not.

"GROTESQUE" - strangely or fantastically distorted, bizarre - absurdly incongruous - a 16th-century decorative style in which parts of human, animal and plant forms are distorted and mixed.

Now, at least, anyone who would aspire to having their contributions achieve the dizzying height of " Photo of the Week " is more clearly aware of the parameters that need to be observed.
As already mentioned, this image has caused sufficient comment to more than compensate for the somewhat plaintive compaint that all previous pictures had passed unnoticed.

A " normal portrait " of Asia would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I like it too. I like the odd juxtaposition and enjoy the slightly creepy feel of it. I don't know how anyone could consider this the "ugliest" photo of 2005. There are some very poorly executed photos buried in these galleries. This one is well-planned and well-executed. The fact that it drew such a strong reaction from some viewers proves it's strength to me.

Meow!

It is funny. That is true, but I just thought it was quite creative. Not many things made with the "archetypal" PS filters impress me, but this did.

I found it to be well derseving of the Photo Of The Week credit.

Has anyone see the quiznos commercial with the cats playing guitar by the tree, this is so that animation. I congratulate it on humor alone that it get photo of the week. Looks almost like a painting, not a photo. I have to say my initial reaction was "omg what a horrid photo of the week are you kidding me?" then I realized, "hey calm down Carl, its a joke funny, you know, photos can be funny too?" At least I admit it. Good job on that tip senior, and having the balls to post it.

Im going to rate it a 10 to screw you all up. NA NA!!!!

Rick
As we are both well aware, Life without a considerable ingredient of Humour (or - if you insist - Humor ) is not worth living.

If the outcome of this monstrosity is a few smiles, possibly calming any ruffled feathers, there is some degree of hope for us in the murky future.

You never know, we might even see an acceptable portrait of this unfortunate creature.

Quite astounding to what depths some people will sink to achieve a modicum of notoriety !

I want to thank you both for your thoughts on my cat. Funny hardly anyone says anthing about my images. It took this one for someone to show interest.

Cheers,
