Was this image inspired by Dorothea Lange? Good Question. Not directly. I like Lange’s work, “Migrant Mother” and “Tractored Out” come to mind, but there are many others. Many of the Group f/64 especially Ansel Adam’s and Edward Weston’s work. Weston’s “Nautilus, and “Pepper.”
I like just about anything by Adams due to his ability to expand the dynamic range to about nine stops preserving detail in both the highlights and shadows that others could not. Ansel Adams was in my opinion the Master of black and white photography, arguably unmatched to this day.
