Great composition! I love it. I don't know if this is as close as you can get, but I'm glad you didn't shoot any tighter. The composition is perfect and I love the background. I only wish you had of used a larger aperture. Although the bright foliage is nice, it doesn't need to be so sharp. The sharpness competes a bit with the main subject. A larger aperture and a softer background would help make the heron stand out more and, I think, make this a much stronger image.
