The MS Chi-Cheemaun is the last in the long line of ferries that sailed Georgian Bay between Tobermory on the main land and South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island.

Commissioned in 1974, the ship is 365 feet (111 m) long with a 62 foot (19 m) beam and has capacity for 648 passengers and 143 vehicles, including room for large highway vehicles such as buses and transport trucks. The power plant of the ship is two Ruston 3500HPdiesel engines and an 800HP bow thruster engine.

The Crossing takes about 2 hours including the on and off loading of passengers and vehicles.
