A sample photo from my in-camera HDR tests with the Nikon Coolpix S8100. When you use the in-camera HDR the camera takes a set of photos to create an HDR image and then saves one with D-Lighting applied and one HDR image. That way you can choose the one you prefer. It's a nice touch and I tend to prefer the D-Lighting version better most of the time. As you can see here, the in-camera HDR has sort of a heavy touch, although it doesn't really look like conventional HDR.
