This was taken with the Olympus E-PL2 Pen camera and the M.Zuiko 75-300mm Micro Four Thirds zoom lens at the maximum focal length of 300mm - a 600mm equivalent compared to 35mm/full-frame. If you look at the large version you'll see that nothing really appears sharp. Look again and note that you can see what look like heat waves, even though the temperature was in the 40's F. That's because shooting that long makes the atmosphere an optical factor. I think it would have to be exceptionall clear and cold to get a completely sharp photo at this kind of distance.
