The corner stone of the Gage Complex was laid in 1922, with the complex opening a few years later to replace the Old Main building which had earlier burned down.

This was my first view of what I thought was the back of the building, however a quick investigation revealed that it was in fact the front of the building. Most of the time when I have visited the site has been in the winter so this whole area has been filled with snow. (Police training in the summer kept us away, but that training has since ceased).

The Gage Complex is named after Sir William Gage, one of the key founders of the original Muskoka Cottage Hospital for the treatment of TB in the late 19th Century.
