I think this is awesome! Welcome to the site! I'm so psyched to see a good moto photo on the site. I got my sports photography start shooting motorcycle roadracing. Now I shoot mostly bicycles. But I still love a good motorocycle photo. This one is technically perfect. I'm sure that 300mm f/2.8 AF-S is great for the track!
I do think it's a bit plain. I like to see two bikes at once or some landscape. To some extent, that's my personal preference. I guess I like some context. A plain, tight bike shot has to be really, really good to be powerful. The bike needs to be sliding, you need to see the rider's eyes, knee needs to be down - something has to make it more than just a guy on a bike. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I agree with John mostly. I would like to add that shooting at f-8 has limited your shot quite a bit. If you would have shot at a bigger f# say... 2.0 or 3.5, I think that would have added to the drama of the race and blurred out the ... unnecessaries? I do like your framing/timing, you must have been using a tripod here I would bet. Good job however, very good!
