I've been playing with the tracking auto focus feature on the new Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 and I'm pretty impressed. Is it as good as I can do with a digital SLR? Absolutely not. But it's still pretty good. You manually select your subject and then it tracks through the frame, attempting to keep it in focus. With Mike here, I watched the AF point zig-zag across the LCD as he skied through the moguls. The image isn't as sharp as if I'd pre-focused and timed it right. But it's still pretty usable - especially for snapshot photographers who just want decent pictures of their kids on the soccer field or vacation ski photos.

A little more info - I shot this with the 8010's sports scene mode. Even though I did brighten up the exposure compensation it still came out pretty dark. I could have adjusted it to look a lot better in Photoshop but I decided to just leave it so viewers could see. This has been adjusted about a stop already in Lightroom.
