That's very cool that you got to take pictures at a TDF time trial! I like the way you processed this photo to highlight polka dots. I think that was a good idea. But the image is very out-of-focus. Maybe you aren't used to shooting action? There are a bunch of us on the site who shoot primarily action, including cycling. My main subject is mountain biking. If you'd like some sports shooting tips, take a look at the Sports Photography forum. There are a lot of very specific techniques for shooting action and we can definitely help. Focusing is the most important and most difficult part of shooting sports. But you can learn. And your camera is fully capable of helpnig you capture good sports photos
