I have seen a lot of moon photos. I know this is not the sharpest photo, but, I thought it was good to show the capabilities of the D90. This photo was made HANDHELD with the D90 and a Nikon 18-200mm lens in active VR mode. Pretty impressive to me.

Actually the shot is great , I have been shooting the moon often

no matter what I do I found it impossible to get a clear shot of the full moon, it is a lot simpler to get detail of the surface when it isn't full

Thanks Armando! You have some pretty impressive shots of the moon. With this shot, I thought it turned out fairly clear despite not using a tripod. The D90 with the VR lens truly amazes me.
