Built in 1911, the former Leaside Rail shops are a perfect example of early 20th century railroad architecture. However when the GTR was nationalized and combined with Canadian Government Railways into Canadian National (CN). They began to cut down the space in the Leaside Railyards, and by 1941 the former shops had been sold to ES&A Robinson, a paper product manufacturer. ES&A eventually became Winpak, the large factory next to the shops was demolished in mid 2007, but the railshop cannot be touched as it's a historically designated building.
