I got my friend Mike to go ride with me and the pre-production EOS 7D I had over the Labor Day weekend. This was taken at about 10,000 feet. So just getting there was an effort - not to mention getting mike to ride up and down this section a bunch of times. This photo was taken by pre-focusing on the landing zone and then holding down the shutter release to take advantage of the 7D's 8 FPS frame rate. Then I just harvested the frame with the best timing. I also shot a set using AI Servo, but the frame with him in the air wasn't quite as sharp as I wanted. I don't think the new 7D has AF that can compete with the 1D cameras. It's damn good, though - definitely better than the 40D and 50D.
