I like the rustic, almost forgotten look of this window, but something in the lighting throws me off. I like how the mystery of the things beyond the windowpane draws me in to try and get a closer look. It's the lack of attention payed to the exterior that I find distasteful. I would like to see this again with a little more attention payed to the texture of the outside surface.

What do you mean about the exterior? I actually cropped this pretty tightly. I have one that shows a lot more. I thought that the wall was distracting from the window. The pealing paint does have a nice texture. Want me to try again? It's my next door neighbor's house...

I would love to see another attempt at this one. I find this image very captivating. I have always been told that I am easily entertained, but I believe that anything as simple and lovely as a window such as this demands a good long look.
I have no problem with the cropping, though I would love to see more of the exterior. It's the lighting that gets me. Maybe at a slightly dimmer time of day you could get the detail and texture of the aging wood and peeling paint. Also the shadowing on the left side kind of annoys me, but there is not always something you can do about that.
