Thank you all for your comments they are greatly appreciated. Pam, to answer your question the camera was not really noticed by most people and anyway they were more concerned about socialising then worried about being photographed. When I arrived I set the camera on the tripod in a central location in the garden and infrequently went over and took photos. As you can see from the camera setting it was quite dark when I took this shot and I was noticed. Also not using flash makes me very inconspicuous. I think, since most people know me they are quit use to being photographed and are not bothered. I don't think in general most Australians are particularly concerned about being photographed.The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means, and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again, since it is life.
