this looks like a fruit that we ate in thailand many years ago....we called them "hairy grapes" if memory serves....they were delicious...nice still life dobbin

Pam - the hairy fruit is a Rambutan, related to Lychee which might be better known. As Michael says, it's really delicious (but quite expensive here). We mix it with kumquats (in the background), sharon, pear, apple, kiwifruit, starfruit..... in a light syrup flavoured with vanilla and preserved ginger and serve it very cold with a dollop of ice cream. Try it!
