Thank you for comments. To answer your question, is that this photo was taken in a wildlife sanctuary. These are so designed to keep out feral animals like foxes, cats and wild dogs. These feral animals were all introduced into Australia and have been responsible for a large number of native animals becoming extinct. Despite this, there has also been a rapid increase and boldness in water bird population after ten years of strict gun control. Most of these birds are quite easy to photograph in the wild.
