Normally, when you take a photo of night view, fountain, or fireworks with compact camera, you can get only boring photos.
However wb1000 has manual mode so you can take photos of those in many ways.
For example, look at this photo, both were taken in manual mode but the first one was shot with fully released iris so light looks divided, and second one was shot with fully closed iris.
See how different they are? Of course wb1000 has smaller sensor, and lens compare with ordinary DSLR so difference isn’t that big, but consider wb1000 is a compact camera.
