Too square to be hip.

Here we see another strong subject along the same lines of your praying angel. This one also seems to be in a quiet meditative state, and so the fact that we do not have his direct attention really works for the overall composition. The sky, which you exposed for perfectly, plays much the same role as the tree did in your last image. It adds depth and interest, but not distraction.

I agree with Larry that a bit more on the bottom would have worked to your advantage here, but the image is still very good.

Capturing Life Frame by Frame

Thank you again for your compliments. There is a reason for the lack of space lower. This particular statue is standing watch over a crypt. That is what the hand is resting on. I was trying to keep the focus on the statue and not have a square, un interesting and distracting crypt under it. I even took some from other angles but it made the face look sort of unsettling. I may go back out there and try something different. Thanks again!
