The photo isn't quite working for me. The training wheels and tool are a little jumbled together and I think more dramatic lighting would have helped. It looks like you shot this at midday, probably right after you took the training wheels off. You could have waited until later in the day when the light got better and shot at a lower angle to give the stuff more depth and drama. I think the idea is good. But sometimes the visual reality of something like this doesn't work. You need to add some drama to lift the subject up.
