There are bishops in the Philippines who vehemently spoke out against capitalism and commercialism. Ironically, commercial selling of palms (for the palm Sunday mass) and other products were allowed at one Philippine church as seen in this pic. It is also a common thing in other churches elsewhere around the nation.

Of course, the people who sell the plants to churchgoers are not independent sellers but rather members of the local church themselves. It's as if the "love offering" was not good enough for them.
