Since XIII age, here, on the bog, was established two villages - Rozhnov (by name of noble family from Rose) and Budejovice (Budweis) - in honour of Budivoy, son of Chech from Zheleznice. In 1263, king Przhemysl Otakar II found a new royal town in purpose to stop expansion of noble family - Vitkov.
